Automotive molding

Automotive molding design have 6 main parts.

1, products design step, it means should came out the products structure for reference.

There have high quality requirements of the trimming pats for car use. Like the rear & front fender protector, dash board, wheel casing, all of them will be make sure after decide the hole care structure. And the car manufacture just need assembling the automotive moldings based on the car structure.

2. Rough design for the automotive moldings

High precise to analysis the every automotive moldings use is the important we should do before design.

Generally, we will use three-dimensional software to design the parts structure. During design will use some special line to point out where the date couldn’t be changed, the other parts are could be changed, then it is important for the next mould design. Moldings are suitable for assembling is the most important.

3.then use CAE to analysis

 Then should pay attention to the mould  tooling step to satisfied the design.

Then we should discuss with mould engineer and handicrafter’s opinion.

Use CAE software to make mould flow analysis, to see the material flue direction, pressure maintaining , cooling and warping, to promise design the most injection system, cooling system .

The step is for designer to find how to design the mould with perfect. After above analysis , fund problems, could discuss with customer how to design good mould. Injection way , cooling system, ejector way, all of them will influence got a good mould and products.

1.     auto mould design

after finished CAE ,then design the mould. Including mould cavity, mould core, injection way and dimension ,cooling way and dimension, and ejector way .at the same time, could purchase mould steel .also need choice mould steel ,think about the tooling way, thinking it could use standard mould base or not.

2.     testing, evaluate

before this step, all of above steps are theoretical, before mould making ,we suggest use do Rapid Prototype, t is for making a samples,it is save cost and could find problems.

3.     then engineering drawings

CAM software will automatically crate mould cavity and core code. To suitable for tooling requirements, should change the 3D to 2D date for tooling.

Auto molding is used in car parts.

Let’s introduce auto molding in car parts, analysis it how to satisfied the car assembling .

1.    auto molding from plastic most advantage, it very light compared with other material, like steel ,aluminum , zinc or others. Used by molding , it saved a lot of materials, and it is more cheaper than other materials.

When design for the plastic bearing, should pay attention to the plastic material have a wear resistant and low friction factor. When design plastic gears ,have high requirement of plastic molding precision and stable function.
